I actually work for a company called ReServe, and my actual title at ACS is IT Project Specialist. I am creating and maintaining a database of Assets (tablets) deployed to the case managers. This is in Excel, not DBMS, so challenging to keep it going. Great fun! I missed this stuff since retiring.ReServe recruits older people and finds them work in nonprofit and government agencies. We get minimum wage! It beats volunteering, though; most volunteer work seems to be around food and children. My favorite volunteer job was preparing tax returns on the Lower East Side. Yes, pure geek.

Programmed, mostly in COBOL but sometimes in PL/1, for our various clients. Read dumps for our team, especially during the transition from 360 to 370 when a lot changed. Wrote documentation and supervised teams. It was a period of intense learning: CICS, IMS, DB2. Participated in proposal writing and presentation. Wrote a lot of documentation. My specialty was finding the best code at the client and making our team conform to that style, ensuring the best compatibility.

Copy editing, proofreading, layout, through production of IEEE Transactions and Standards. Training of new Editors. Creation of Style Manual. Art work and display creation.
