Senior Manager Exploration (MPCL) Aug 2020-Aug 2021: Managing exploration portfolio of 21 Operated and Partners Operated exploration leases. Responsibilities include planning and execution of exploration work program and budget approvals, joint venture and regulatory compliance, meeting timelines of prospect generation projects and delivery of new wells. Achieve annual resource addition target through exploration and appraisal success. Expansion of exploration portfolio for long term sustenance of drilling inventory.Sr Geophysicist-Manager Exploration (MPCL) Nov 2012- Jul 2020: Responsible for Operated and non-Operated exploration/D&PL block activities including planning, budget vs work program, prospect generation, block’s evaluation, field operations, seismic 2D/3D processing & interpretation, well placement and delivery. Addition of ~300 BCF in MPCL’s reserves base through exploration efforts from ~8 discoveries.

In short period at GHPL, completed full cycle G&G interpretation and reservoir mapping of Gambat South 3D Seismic data and finalized 2 exploratory well locations, which later proved as success for PPL and JVs and opened doors for later discoveries in the block.

Lead a team of geoscientists to deliver a highly ambitious work program of drilling ~30 exploratory wells in MKK. Later on that resulted in back-to-back successes and explored more than 1.5 TCF GIIP volume. Responsible for prospect evaluation, project management, implementation of new de-risking techniques, new wells planning and supervising & development of junior geoscientists.

Main responsibilities include integrated project management and delivery, seismic 2D/3D interpretation, mapping, seismic attribute analysis and inversion, prospect generation, well planning, risking, and volumetrics. Act as a focal point for exploration and appraisal of upper cretaceous reservoirs of Abu Dhabi for all ADNOC operating companies, coordinate with joint ventures, QC results of integrated projects and recommendations, define subsurface well targets with justification and objectives, and furnish well proposals, technical presentations and report writing, contribute to knowledge management and best practices, mentor junior geoscientists and evaluate new G&G interpretation workflows and technology. Key Achievements; Structural and Stratigraphic model of Mender field (600 Sq. Kms) using Paradigm’s Stratimagic application. Seismic structural and stratigraphic interpretation of the Huwaila south field and identified reservoir facies with full analysis of upper Cretaceous depositional environment in the study area.  Developed a workflow for seismic sequence stratigraphic interpretation using 2D dataset which enabled mapping of seismic sequences with respect to depositional environment. As conclusion, new exploration strategy planned for the study area. Regional seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization project for mapping the potential of sweet gas in Paleozoic reservoirs of offshore Abu Dhabi. The final results included mapping of main structures, risking, play fairway analysis, volumetrics and recommendation for new drilling targets, and constructed a static geological model for an onshore field within the area of investigation.

Senior Geoscientist – Team Leader, Manager Technical, Schlumberger, Libya 2003–2005:Key projects: Seconded to TOTAL geoscience team for seismic reservoir characterization of Mabruk and Murzuk basins resulting in finding new opportunities for oil exploration. Lead a team of 8 geoscientists that delivered full cycle G&G evaluation.  Seconded to Wintershsall subsurface team for mapping and delivery of new wells that lead to development of multiple new exploration opportunities in eastern sirte basin. Delivered seismic interpretation and mapping on depth imaged 3D seismic data that reduced velocity modelling uncertainty. Geoscientist, Schlumberger, Pakistan 1999 – 2003:Key projects: Seconded to PDO-Oman as Interpretation Geophysicist. Responsibilities included seismic 3D time and depth structural mapping. The mapping of structures included different gridding techniques including convergent and least square with customized parameters to map the actual structural trend. Conducted structural growth history analysis based upon seismic interpretation levels for Cretaceous reservoirs. Seismic 3D interpretation of Malan Field (of PDO Oman): Seismic interpretation of Malan 3D (on merged 3D volume that combined 4 separate 3D volumes), included wells correlation, interpretation of key reservoir horizons and faults interpretation, velocity modeling, depth conversion, and well proposals. The main reservoir in the Malan field is Shuaiba Fm. Of Upper Cretaceous that forms a combined structural and stratigraphic trap. Later three wells were drilled in the field area and two produced oil.  Seismic interpretation workflows testing with development team, Houston.Seismic Processing Geophysicist, Schlumberger, UAE 1998–99:Delivered Synthetic and VSP processing jobs for ADNOC exploration wells. Completed Schlumberger training school at Houston for geoscience interpretation.

•Geophysicist, Seismic 2D acquisition survey, assisted in layout designing, shooting schemes, and acquisition of 2D seismic survey in Thatha block, southern Pakistan.
