I have worked with big brands like Sprite, Instacart and Facebook but smaller commissions always interest me (especially if there's a good story behind needing a giant tomato with arms). I started volunteering in late 2017 as a pack-out person assisting Meals on Wheels drivers. I have also called clients to talk via Friends of Meals on Wheels and helped in food sorts. In 2020 I began volunteer driving once a week also. I've gotten to know San Jose really well and I love to see my regular clients.

I teach art classes at a week-long family camp in the Russian River Valley. I teach private lessons in sewing and general arts and crafts. Think of me as an artsy Mary Poppins-- I come to your home with all the needed supplies, lead children through specially tailored craft projects and clean it all up. Since my full-time job is toy design, I love teaching sewing lessons and helping children think up their own toys and follow through to construction.

Plush Toy Design takes campers aged 7-13 from designing a toy on paper to a finished product. My class focused on making strange creatures never before seen-- a "Flying Ear Horse", a living popsicle (with full wardrobe and makeup kit), or a 5-eyed blue cat! Campers learned basic hand-sewing stitches, embroidery and embellishment techniques, as well as machine-sewing. I make sure any students leave with a finished toy and skills to continue further on their own.It was a pleasure to work with DezignKidz and be a new part of their sewing camp.

For a brief time, I was a docent for the New York Beauty quilts exhibit, volunteered at the front desk and gift shop and created community crafts projects for all ages.

I created projects for and maintain the Community Gallery at the Textiles Museum, giving patrons direction and a space to exhibit their works. Each month required a craft suited to a broad audience and instructions and materials for patrons to do solo work in our Community Craft area. Patrons entering the museum first lay eyes on the Community Gallery, and have the opportunity to do the craft and contribute their work. The Gallery is changed monthly, and a new craft takes its place at the beginning of each month. This area is open to all ages, and encourages all patrons to learn a new skill, or brush up an on old one.

In the summer of 2013, I will instruct K-5 students in basic sculptural techniques (3D Art) and repurposing recycled materials into art (Eco Art). With some guidance from seasoned instructors, I will plan for the content and direction of my classes at Arts Escape. My aspirations in this job are to gain theatre costuming experience and eventually find entry into public school classrooms to teach visual arts.

For the summer of 2012, I will facilitated sewing projects for campers aged pre-K to 7th grade. There were no set lesson plans, and campers were encouraged to create their own projects within the limits of our materials. I taught hand-sewing and machine-sewing, as well as embroidery, pattern design and puppet-making. When I was not in the studio, I was the co-counselor for a group of 20-30 3rd graders (depending on the day) and participated in performances and camper-vs-counselor competitions.

Give me papers with words! I will put the words in the computer! But seriously, I went from data entry to helping organize the 2011 Silicon Valley Just Food Summit. I made phone calls, drafted letters, helped design flyers and trained my successor before I left.

I managed the equipment and personnel of the Media department of Mullins Library and was the point of contact for hiring, training, and scheduling.

I made sure we had promotional items for give-away at every show, specific to the theme. I contracted artists to design t-shirts for sale, ran a silent auction, handled money and bought all my supplies. Budgets, staffing merchandise tables, making displays and signage, and designing unique, small items for sale were all parts of my duties. This position did not exist on the Art Amiss board until I started doing it.

I collect, cull, and publish small books of Arkansan writing. I'm also a good thesaurus.

I coordinated the borrowing and lending of library materials between Springdale and eight other libraries within the Washington County Library system, as well as other libraries in the area. The replacement of audiovisual items and patron requests for library purchases also went through me. During this time, I also had all the duties of a Circulation Clerk, with the added responsibility of occasional scheduling and supervising of part-time employees.

I was responsible for checking in/out all library materials, customer service of all stripes, complaints, shelving/organizing books, book repair, space management, training new employees, and occasional duties at the Children's, Reference and Information desks.

I was a guest knitting instructor and coordinated and taught a one-time poetry workshop for teens and adults.

As a volunteer tutor, I was in the charge of 1-2 students of the English language. There were also occasional opportunities to substitute for ESL classes. I made lesson plans, hand-outs, organized small field trips, and did team-translation.

I had the time of my life! I had a daytime rotation show for four years, in which I played about 75% curated music, 25% of whatever I liked. I reviewed a little music myself, and helped train a few other DJs. I was responsible for keeping things fun and professional on air, following FCC guidelines for a non-commercial station and all physical operations of the station at the time I was in the DJ booth.

The Promotional Director's main responsibilities were two to three large student music shows per school year, design and distribution of promotional products, and media communications.
