As the General Manager for the Northern Region of Qual IT Solutions Limited, I operationally manage the day to day activities which include providing Software Testing and Quality Assurance services to clients across a broad range of industries. My account management of clients range from small software houses to large corporates across the Northern region. Since September 2010, I have been working as a Senior Test Analyst on an Agile project involving COBOL, .NET, Oracle & SQL Server technologies. As in any Scrum team, this required close collaboration with the entire team. I work very closely with the BA & Product Owner to ensure that stories are fully defined and Acceptance Criteria are thorough, clear and unambiguous. Good working knowledge of SQL and an ability to understand coding languages enables me to work efficiently with the developers to produce the robust functionality required in this fast-paced and challenging environment.

My role as Testing Tools Manager involved the management of the HP (formerly Mercury) suite of testing tools.This includes the implementation of a new central infrastructure and the migration of over 250 projects to new upgraded test management software.I was responsible for the implementation of tool standards used across the Group and worked closely with all testing areas to help reduce manual effort by effective use of the available functionality.I have implemented Group Standards to reduce lead time in users moving cross project and enable the Test and Project Managers to get a unified view of testing progress and completion.I also worked on the merger of the Test Management tools from separate HBOS and LTSB platforms onto a single managed infrastructure following the creation of Lloyds Banking Group.During this time I was part of the HP reference programme, being used as a reference site for other HP test tool users to gain assistance and advice on tool implementation.

Joined Lloyds TSB with the remit to implement Test Automation in an area that had previously failed gain benefit from this technology. In order to do this, I re-evaluated the entire testing lifecycle to ensure that the processes were conducive to successful Test Automation.This included a complete overhaul of the estimation process to ensure that the automation could be funded both for the implementation and for ongoing future developments. A manual regression pack was defined as well as a dedicated test environment capable of mirroring the numerous different configurations of hardware and software found in the branch network.As a result of this automation, the following figures were achieved:o Regression timescales reduced from 20 days to 5o Actual execution effort reduced from 90 mandays to 10o Increased test coverageo Reduced implementation delayso Month on month cost savings of c.£80-100k

Performed various roles for Compuware including Planning and Process Implementations and Test Automation. All of my work is client based requiring adherence to rigid timescales and solid results. Clients include: EDS-Inland Revenue, Woolworths, Equifax, Barclays Bank, LloydsTSB and Lynx Financial Systems.My work has involved:• Automated testing – My final assignment was with a UK high street bank managing the implementation of automated test software into their current project lifecycle. This involves working with Bank staff to ensure that knowledge is passed and recorded to enable future expansion. I have also helped a large UK financial software house to complete an order for automated test scripts from a major client within time and under budget.• Test Planning and Management – I worked for an international retail chain performing test planning for their SAP based web implementation. This involved functional testing of the front-end web site and remote stress and performance testing to ensure a smooth launch for the very busy Christmas period. I have also undertaken testing planning assignments for various government departments as well as using my expertise to produce proposals and tenders.• Process Assessments – Concerns over testing processes have required me to perform full assessments of the overall development and testing processes of a major financial software house. I advise on areas for improvement, allowing the client to improve productivity and performance of staff, as well as ensuring better software for their clients.• Test Process Implementation – I was part of a team of three that ensured that a reusable test process was fully implemented and followed. It was necessary for a large IT outsourcer to ensure that they had a process in place that was solid and repeatable to enable them to achieve CMM level 3. This was necessary to be successful in re-gaining a major Government account for a further ten years.

Heavily involved in the NatWest BankLine project, a PC based banking system for corporate clients to view and maintain their own accounts and financial dealings. The package wass written in C, used a Sybase database and wass supported on multiple platforms including Win 3.11, 95, NT3.51, NT4 clients with Novell 3, Novell 4, NT3.51 and NT4 networks. Major involvement in writing automated scripts with SQA Suite using function based programming techniques. Also provided technical support of SQA for all other areas of the testing team.Responsible for designing and developing a suite of resilient automated test scripts for testing of BankLine as well as coordinating the testing of BankLine for complete functional compliance for Year 2000.I gained experience on multiple platforms, standalone and networked and was heavily responsible for the Audit & Quality Assurance within the project.Skills:Liaising with the business users to determine entry criteria to the UAT testing phase. Technical test execution using SQA automation twinned with SQL database interrogation/manipulation. Incident logging and following incidents raised to resolution. Definition and communication of test data requirements to different departments for creation and sign off. Arranging for software builds and installing the software on the necessary platforms.
