His professional education began in the U.K. at The Architectural Association School of Architecture. Upon relocating to New Zealand, Shwan completed his Architecture degree at Unitec School of Architecture, New Zealand and proceeded to develop his exceptional design skills combining an ingenious blend of artistry, innovation, and functionality. Shwan has garnered numerous awards for his designs, including the New Zealand Institute of Architects Award for Urban Design, the Beca Innovation Award in the Excellence category, International Property Awards, among several others.Through the years, Shwan has branched out across many different disciplines and gained a broad appreciation for functionality combined with economically and environmentally conscious design. During his time as Director of Campus Development at the American University of Sharjah, Shwan refined his focus to develop improved learning atmospheres for the academic community in the university environment. It is a rare combination of skill, education, and integrity combined with a broad range of experience that highlights Shwan's distinctive architectural background.
