Three years in this role, my growth was exponential as an individual contributor, a multiplier and mentor.Started off in the publishing team where I helped built the publishing architecture of the application - Integrated wordpress, facebook, linkedin, twitter and tumblr apis with the CMP app which allowed clients to push content like articles and images to these third party sites- Spearheaded the implementation of the first microservice of the platform; it was a scheduling service for the publishable content. The service with the then introduced architecture core is still live to this day- Formed and lead a team of 5 interns who were in charge of tackling application bugs throughout the platform. My first taste of mentoring others. All of the members in that team went on to become managers and tech leads for the companyI was later moved to the core application team in charge of the whole system architecture - Helped implement the logging system for all the micro services using the ELK stack- Integrated with google stack driver to monitor api performance and NewRelic for the front-end- Improved backend performance by 8% for the overall application- Worked with the product and design teams to come up with solutions for new features and improve existing ones

Along with completing our full move to agile processes we were also in the early days from moving our monolithic codebase to adapt microservices. I was put in the team in charge of refactoring and improving the analytics system of the CMP app.While building the analytics system -- I helped onboard new engineers to our platform- Got a good hand coding in Scala and Python- Optimized the angular part of the analytics pages; improved page load time by 27% (yeah it was that bad)- Improved api response time by 15%After another round of team shuffle, I was moved to the publishing team in charge of handling third party CMS and social integrations of the CMP app.

My first professional job after college.I joined a team of 5 engineers who were tasked to build the MVP for the in house product, Content Marketing Platform. After it's first demo with stakeholders, we had to push live whatever we built over one weekend. The trial ec2 instances, the test database with garbage collections all went live overnight. What followed was many adrenaline filled nights fixing bugs and releasing a host of feature requests.Some of my successes and key learning were - - Heard the term MEAN for the first time- Got experience as a first-responder for outages and escalation of bugs- Built the image editor for the CMP using the Aviary library- Integrated multiple third-party libraries in both Angular and Node for the app- Got bullied in pull requests for using $watch; ended the year giving in-house tech talks on clean code- Was in the winning team of the company's first ever hackathon
