Alicia Rhoades is a Alpine Ski Racing Coach at Marquette Mountain Resort. She possess expertise in ecology, gis, research, field work, data collection and 34 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "Alicia is a dedicated and talented biologist with a strong sense of organization and commitment to project quality and structure. Her work with Maui Nui Seabirds has helped the project improve data collection, track staff time and manage data archives. Alicia quickly learned proper and effective seabird handling and banding techniques. Her ability to work in the field with seabirds which attend their colonies at night, in often difficult terrain and weather conditions has been exemplary. She has demonstrated physical toughness, carrying a fully loaded back pack across the slopes of Haleakala, then working four days work between 2130 and 2800 meters with slopes often exceeding 30%! She has been responsible for maintaining crew morale and quality data collection during extreme weather events on the mountain. Alicia is very responsive to requests for products from the project data files. When I ask for maps, charts or other depictions of our data to use in reports, presentations or events Alicia is prompt and accurate with her replies.She has been a vital team member in the development of an integrated data system for the project's geospatial and tabular data. She has led project movement into more effective and technologically advanced data collection, saving immense amounts of time in data processing and management. And, she does it all with a smile! She keeps a sign on her desk saying "No Whining". Even in the face of trying to collect and process good data with volunteers and new staff members in harsh weather and terrain Alicia stays positive and strives to reach for the best for the project. Her personal standards for quality and performance set a high bar and Maui Nui Seabirds has been a grateful beneficiary."
