The Kelsey pioneers disability-forward, inclusive housing solutions that open doors to more affordable homes and opportunities for everyone. We have two sites and 225+ homes in our pipeline, have unlocked over $109 million in funds for housing, and lead efforts to advance strategies and policies to make communities more inclusive. For the 1 in 4 adults in the United States with a disability, an affordable home in the community is often impossible to find. We're changing that that. We believe solving the disability housing crisis is an opportunity to build better, more connected communities everywhere for everyone.

• Assisted the development team with prospect research, drafting LOIs and grant proposals, and writing press releases. • Collaborated with in-house writing coach to bolster philanthropy-focused skills such as how to do due diligence, read 990s, and write successful LOIs and grant proposals.• Received intensive training on theory of change, performance metrics, accountability, and disability inclusion and advocacy in philanthropy through weekly sessions with guest speakers.• Studied 9 hours of webinars to earn a Certificate in Disability Inclusion & Advocacy.

• Co-developed the 2021 Gardening Contest, which included coordinating and planning meetings with a team of 10 community volunteers, and building out the entire survey and judging platform on Airtable.• Assisted the Audience Engagement Team with webinar management, which included scheduling Zoom meetings and keeping track of over 20+ webinars at a time on multiple online platforms, such as Airtable, SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, LinkTree, and Raiser’s Edge.• Helped coordinate a grant-funded project to provide free gardening supplies to Nicetown-Tioga community members, which included developing a Gardening 101 handout and performing followup interviews with grantees. • Assisted with program development, vendor sourcing, and customer service for the Philadelphia Flower Show.

• Worked with two other co-facilitators to run a synchronous, remote introductory course on interdependence and social change. • Responsibilities included leading discussions, providing feedback on student blog posts, organizing meetings and lesson plans with guest speakers, and maintaining regular communication with co-facilitators.

• Worked with professor to develop a synchronous, remote praxis course. • Responsibilities included co-planning and co-facilitating lessons and aiding in organization by compiling notes and updating the course Moodle page.

• Built relationships with alumni and parents over email and phone to ask for Annual Fund support.

• Co-planned and co-taught a weeklong High School Island Ecology and a weeklong High School Marine Biology program. • Lead a three-day Leave No Trace course for Overland groups.

• Helped maintain studio by tasks such as cleaning, checking in guests, and answering phone calls. • Participated in exchange for free yoga classes.

• Collaborated with a team of two to three other counselors to plan activities and supervise up to 22 11- and 13-year-old girls at a traditional girls’ overnight camp. • One of seven climbing instructors in charge of teaching up to 30 children with a 50-foot challenge course including rock walls, a high ropes course, a zip line, and rope swing.
