•Manage all Human Resource functions, including but not limited to payroll, benefits, recruitment, and compensation, for the Shafter Silver Mine, with employment of approximately 185 persons•Execute professional Human Resources objective, practices and policies to meet the business needs and opportunities of the company. •Plan, organize, and control all activities of the department. Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. •Manage the hiring process including recruiting and selection of suitable qualified candidates for approved openings, ensuring that candidate backgrounds, education, and references are verified before hiring decisions are made•Create and manage an Employee Manual, and other employee standards, documents, and procedures required for the efficient administration of the mine and associated exploration activities•Hire, train, and direct such office staff as required for the performance of the above functions (10 office personnel)•Oversight responsibility for compliance to company rules & policies, as well as federal and state employment regulations•Implementation and management of our company drug-testing policy and criminal background check policy•Administer and manage employee benefit programs such as basic medical, term life insurance, disability, and accidental death policies•Implement and annually update compensation programs; rewrite job descriptions as necessary; conduct annual salary surveys and develop merit pool (salary budget); analyze compensation; monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
