I have grown my love of sailing through my career working as a professional crewmember logging over 200 days at sea, being challenged everyday with different conditions, and becoming a specialist in customer service working with an average of 150 different tourists per day of work. -one of two deckhands under a captain to sail a 72 and an 80 ft schooner, one deckhand under one captain to sail a 48 foot sloop-Worked on 7-member team to sail Schooner Eros from St Thomas to Boothbay, Maine-Organized public trips and charters-Gained knowledge of core techniques, knots, and sail hauling-Adept at operating at highest level for long hours in unpredictable weather and wind patterns -Focused on juggling multiple tasks at once to ,make the sailing experience the best for each person who comes on

I learned more about what it means to be part of a team in a very fast paced workplace, and how to close one job before opening another in order to stay organized and on task.-Worked either as a prep cook or on the smoothie, organic juice, and acai side of the restaurant-Spent 8 hours a day on my feet working with a team to run the restaurant-Open floor plan meant I was visible to customers at all times; deep understanding on how to be professional at all times at a job-Basic understanding of knife work, food sanitary measures, and opening and closing restaurants

I worked as a field guide for an adventure wilderness therapy company where I learned group management, adventure and trip planning and flexibility when dealing with natural adversity, and connecting with a large assortment of people. I focused on 24 hour "on it" schedule, and worked to create an environment where kids who were opposed to being outdoors fell in love with outdoor activities.Guiding Experience -"Leave No Trace" principals on various terrains-I achieved a first assistant level in rock climbing, hiking, backpacking and canyoneering, and a second assistant in mountain biking-led with 1, 2, or 3 other co-guides groups of 2-9 students for 8 days at a time Therapy/Group Culture Experience -supported students coming out as gay or bisexual, transgender students, and questioning students-supported and managed girls groups with gossiping, cliques, anxiety, depression, anger, and body image issues
