A rewarding small business for which to work. I learned a lot. Troubleshooting vehicle issues in the mountains with no service. Walt, if you're reading this, thanks for the ride into town that day after we learned about my blown CV joint on the Mountain Recycling Truck. Everything recycles! Yet this is a business. - Seeing the industry of resource recovery from the inside, is providing practical understanding of *profitable* recycling. - At this company, we help clients retain value from their expendable resources. Office paper, Old Corrugated Cardboard, Electronic "Waste", and other products have value beyond their individual lifespan. I'm honored to pay my bills with capital created from others' waste. I like to call it "Easy Money", but that mantra is not always true through each of my tasks. During times of hard struggle, I continue on because I anticipate the end result of my effort.We began a "little" eBay business on the back-end during my tenure at Green Girl Recycling. I gained thorough experience among the guts of desktops, laptops, servers, and really anything that was deemed worthy of inspection. I was astonished to learn the value of the electronics that folks were ready to have recycled. This job allowed me to enact my passions for a cleaner environment. I tell my friends to live in a proper way, but really my philosophy is to join a team doing the good work, and work hard with 'em.

This was my hardest job and ironically my favorite job. The duties of this position required me to exceed all prior expectations of myself. I really wanted an entry-level recycling job, and compost hauling in Austin was absolutely a worthwhile endeavor!Each individual was responsible for dozens of pick-ups per day of compostables and recyclables from commercial and residential clients. From those pick-ups, and depending on the performance of the team, I would be responsible for dumping on average of 18,000lbs. organics and a few thousand pounds of Single-Stream recyclables. The cool part is we did this all by HAND at the time. I've got some great shots of the nitty-gritty from my chest-mounted GoPro. Having succeeded in becoming a key member on this team, I will carry the confidence for life that I can handle anything after having seen what I have (proudly)wearing the Break It Down uniform. I believe I can do anything after weathering the trials of commercial organics hauling. I'd be happy to share some stories to prove my determination and dependability in trying situations.
