About Arief Priyono
Arief Priyono is an Indonesia-based documentary photographer, writer and filmmaker. He worked as a photographer at the Indonesian News Agency ANTARA from 2007 - 2012, until he finally decided to become a freelance journalist.In 2013 & 2014 he received a scholarship for the Photographer Training of Trainers program from the PannaFoto Institute at Erasmus Huis, the Dutch Cultural Center in Jakarta.His work has been published in the national and international media. His first documentary film concerning children orphaned due to COVID-19 in Indonesia has won the Ruedi Hofmann Media Award from the 7th Puskat Film Festival - 2021.In 2010, Arief Priyono received an assignment from Human Rights Watch to photograph political prisoners of the Republic of South Maluku.
