Faculty - Maria Cotera, University of Michigan, American Culture and Women’s Studies. Research assistant for Dr. Cotera's "Chicana Por Mi Raza" project, which centers on uncovering and making available feminist archives from the Chicana feminist movement of the 1960s-1980s. My work revolved around analyzing and cataloguing artifacts from the period, from photographs to newspaper articles to literary works. I created original content for the project's website based on my research of specific women's oral histories and written documents.

Selected to perform for the winter installation of Instant Narrative at the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA). Instant Narrative is an exhibit by renowned Spanish contemporary artist, Dora Garcia, in which a performer/recorder makes clandestine notes on a computer about the exhibition’s visitors – notes that are revealed to members of the public during the course of their visit through a video projection.

Worked as a summer intern for 826michigan, a non-profit organization dedicated to working with students ages 6-18 with creative and expository writing. Duties included lesson-planning, conducting hour-long writing lessons and workshops, assisting in a classroom for English Language Learners, editing student work, and compiling student work for chapbook publications.

Gained interpersonal experience, design experience, and knowledge about manifestations of socioeconomic status in society. Duties included opening and closing the shop, assisting customers, designing storefront displays, working the cash register, and keeping the store organized and neat.
