I love the arts especially music. It’s been in my family for generations. And I have turned my passion into a broad and rewarding career serving the music and the broader creative industries. From managing A-list artists at Universal Music to establishing digital sales teams and industry leading account management practices at Sony Music to creating my own music supervision agency to brokering industry first copyright protection codes of practices between social media platforms and music rights holders, and, in my current role managing the £500M Culture Recovery Fund and Sports Survival package Loan Books, I offer a deep know-how and network in the music business, tech sector, and Government. I’ve built a unique skillset specialised in the music business such as driving digital sales growth, negotiating record label and publisher license agreements, leading sales & marketing teams, driving digital transformations, EU copyright negotiations and international product management. Since 2018, as the UK Government’s Head Of Music, Publishing Copyright Policy, I have been engaging with music trade organisations, and mobilising teams across Whitehall, delivering evidence-based policies such as the £1.57Bn Cultural Recovery Fund pandemic response, and brokered codes of practice between social media platforms and rights holders to reduce copyright infringement activity. In May 2021, I set up and led a team at DCMS that designed and delivered a Government backed reinsurance scheme to support the economic recovery of the live events sector. I've also been leading a team tasked in managing DCMS's £500M portfolio of Sports Survival Package and Culture Recovery Funds loan recipients, devising governance structures, contract managing a managed service provider, and setting policies that strike the right balance between managing public money appropriately and supporting the long term recovery of Sports and Cultural organisations.
