Ariel Wright began her ballet training with Jacqueline’s School of Ballet at a young age under the direction of Jacqueline Colledge, Heather Gray, and Brittnee Squires. In 2009 she was hired as a company member with Utah Metropolitan Ballet and retired from the stage in 2021. During her time with the company, she danced in many productions including soloist roles in Jacqueline Colledge’s Legend of Timapanogos (Bright Eyes), Nutcracker (Waltz of the Flowers pas de deux), and Peter Pan (Tiger Lily). She also danced many other roles by choreographers including Heather Gray, Brittnee Squires, Alyssa Myers, and Alan Hineline. Some of the highlights of her career were Balanchine’s Serenade (Russian girl solo) and Who Cares? (Jumping girl).Ariel is one of the ballet teachers for Jacqueline’s School of Ballet where she loves seeing and nurturing new talent. She is passionate about choreography with her works receiving awards at Youth America Grand Prix and Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s Choreography Design Competition. Some of her choreography has been performed at Ballet Alliance Festivals and at the Young Tanzsommer festival in Europe. Recently, she restaged her work On Cue on Columbia Repertory Ballet at Columbia University.She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree Ballet Emphasis from Utah Valley University in 2014 where she graduated Cum Laude and where she also received the Award of Merit in ballet.
