I am currently the Director of Health and Wellness at the Plano Family YMCA. I manage our Personal Training and Group Exercise departments. I started here as an intern my last semester of college, learning the ins and outs of personal training. During my internship, I found a love for personal training and the Y, so much so that I decided to make a career out of it. I worked as a trainer for a year part-time, then gained full-time status for another year. I took on many coordinating responsibilities during my full-time year to learn more about the Director position. Once the position opened, I immediately applied and was later offered the position.I love what I do because I have the opportunity to love on and mentor people, which I have a passion for. I have a passion for changing lives whether it is directly or through the members of my team. I am also learning more and more about the Y and what it does for its community. The Y offers so much to so many, it is more of a community than anything else.
