Power Platform - Power Apps and Admin Experiences

During my time with Microsoft, I defined and drove the first set of requirements for the integration Microsoft’s MPIP security system in the Power Platform. This included creating a 30 page functional spec that included requirements for this security system, business justification, usage and success metrics, and customer feedback. Throughout the course of the summer, I met frequently with engineers and designers, conducted multiple customer interviews to receive feedback on the feature, and defined a roadmap for future phases of this project based off of customer feedback that described what features they wanted prioritized. Finally, I was able to hone in my communication and team work skills through learning how to deal with conflicting schedules and opinions.

Research Assistant in Judgment and Decision Making Lab (Spring 2020) and in Moore Accuracy Lab (Fall 2020-present). During my time in these two labs, I conducted literature reviews, engaged with human participants in our studies, collected and analyzed data in R, and engaged in weekly lab meetings. This past year, I have worked with a team of RAs developing a research project titled “The Psychology of Economic Inequality” in which we aim to understand why Americans tend to oppose redistribution measures when such measures would benefit them.

I was selected to work under Dr. Mark A. Livingston through the NREIP internship program. I developed an algorithm in Python to edit different types of graphs (scatterplots, pie graphs, line and bar graphs, stacked graphs, etc) stored as JSON files. The algorithm can change the labels and color schemes of the graph, take out data from the graph in a variety of ways, and has the ability to randomize what edits to do, without any user input. This algorithm will assist Dr. Livingston in his research to find an objective way to measure graph comprehension.

Manage and organize funds for the annual UC Berkeley CSSA CogSci Conference by contacting local donors and academic departments at UC Berkeley for donations. Also handle reimbursements and club money for academic/career events that are put on.

Created heat map of current COVID-19 cases in the United States and a sitemap on ConnectNGive’s website. Also developed a statistics dashboard that displays relevant COVID-19 statistics and created media-sharing options. Finally, I worked with a team to add some key optimization features to the website.

Conducted literature reviews and research for Dr. Emily Meierding on strategies employed by oil producing countries to stay economically viable after the crash in oil prices in 2014.

Selected for the competitive SEAP research internship program in Dr. Nina Shattuck's lab. During my time in SEAP, I conducted literature reviews, helped design a statistical study, recruit volunteers, and validate a new psycho-motor reaction time test that is used to find the optimal sleep-watch schedule for active members of the Navy.
