Adams work is well recognised in the indoor air quality sector, resulting in him holding positions such as the chair of the Building and Engineering Services Association (BESA) IAQ Group and serving as the UK representative for the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC).His commitment extends beyond these roles as he actively participates in publicly-funded innovation programs aimed at advancing the deployment of ground breaking solutions for mitigating air pollution exposure including the Breathable Cities Programme funded by Impact on Urban Health.Adam has played a significant role in shaping international healthy building standards, contributing to the development of standards like Fitwel and AirRated, and previously serving as a member of the WELL Faculty.With a foundation in mechanical engineering, Adam has dedicated over two decades to the fields of air quality and thermal comfort. His journey began as a mechanical design engineer, where he initially focused on designing domestic heating systems before transitioning to designing tailored air distribution systems geared towards enhancing thermal comfort.In 2016, Adam embarked on a mission to promote the forthcoming BB101 guidelines, a pioneering standard aimed at elevating air quality and thermal comfort in educational settings through the implementation of demand-controlled heat recovery and natural ventilation solutions.Expanding his reach internationally, Adam delved into the developing field of indoor air cleaning technologies in 2018, founding ARM Environments, a specialized IAQ supplier and contractor. His expertise was further acknowledged when he joined AirRated in 2020 to spearhead the development and oversight of the Design and Operation standard.
