Stanford Summer Session is committed to robust academic support. In addition to Stanford’s world-renowned faculty and libraries, the Summer Academic Resource Center (SARC) offers free academic support services to visiting and matriculated Stanford students enrolled in the University’s summer quarter. In my role, I oversaw the programming and management of SARC for Summer 2020.SARC includes two programs: Summer Tutor Program (STP) and Academic Advising. Tutors facilitate virtual drop-in and by-appointment tutoring sessions that support the majority of courses offered in the Summer Quarter. In addition to tutoring and academic advising, SARC offers academic workshops every week in a variety of areas. SARC workshops address core academic skills and academic life at Stanford. For Summer 2020, we also designed workshops that support online learning. Role:• Developing programming and curricula for the Summer Academic Resource Center, which houses academic advising, subject area tutoring, and supplemental academic workshops. • Facilitating the unprecedented move of all summer academic programming into an online format in response to the global pandemic.• Hiring, training, and managing a team of 25 tutors to support the academic development of over 2,500 students during the summer quarter.

TEFL TeacherThe Peace Corps Mission - To promote world peace and friendship by fulfilling three goals:1. To help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women.2. To help promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.3. To help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.Volunteers in Kosovo work in schools as English teachers for two years, primarily in rural areas and always with a local Kosovar Counterpart. In addition to co-teaching with their Counterparts, they become involved in local projects based on the needs of their communities. These projects take many forms depending on the skills and experience of individual Volunteers, but the projects are always based on the expressed needs of the schools and the communities.Role:- Co-teaching and co-facilitating English language lesson plans to groups of student in primary school to meet different learning levels and learning styles.- Co-planning and preparing outside of the classroom for in-class activities, tests, and lessons to meet the set curriculum for Kosovo schools.- Integrating and assimilating to cultural differences in a small Albanian village and life with a host-family. - Mentoring and supporting students in their livelihoods, aspirations, and well-beings inside and outside of the classroom through extracurricular activities co-lead with students. - Contributing as a member of the Peace Corps Kosovo Culture and Language Committee by creating resources for language acquisition and cultural integration for fellow volunteers.

Established in 1999, the Center for the Study of Child Care Employment (CSCCE) is focused on achieving comprehensive public investments that enable the early childhood workforce to deliver high-quality care and education for all children. To achieve this goal, CSCCE conducts research and policy analysis about the characteristics of those who care for and educate young children and examines policy solutions aimed at improving how our nation prepares, supports, and rewards these early educators to ensure young children’s optimal development. CSCCE provides research and expert analysis on topics that include compensation and economic insecurity among early educators, early childhood teacher preparation and access to educational opportunities, work environments, and early childhood workforce data sources and systems. CSCCE also works directly with policymakers and a range of national, state, and local organizations to assess policy proposals and provide technical assistance on implementing sound early care and education workforce policy.Role:- Supported group research efforts examining the working conditions, wages, ongoing professional development opportunities and benefits of the early childhood workforce.- Crafted surveys using Qualtrics for indexing of state-by-state high education programs across the country.- Collaborated to compile media reports, outside research, and continuing education initiatives to better understand the conversation surrounding early childhood education in the United States.

GAAMAC is a global, inclusive, state-led network and support system whose purpose it is to assist interested states in operationalizing prevention of mass atrocity crimes at national level through: (1) providing peer-to-peer support for developing and implementing national strategies for prevention; (2) offering information-sharing and exchange of lessons learned to deepen knowledge and practice; and (3) supporting networks and enhancing linkages among states and between states and civil society on atrocity prevention efforts.Role:- Maintaining contact with NGOs, civil society, education, and government bodies working on atrocity prevention.- Updating and contributing to the maintenance of the GAAMAC website (www.gaamac.org)- Conducting interviews with NGO and government officials working in atrocity prevention so as to highlight their progress, share best practices, and provide transparency on an intergovernmental level- Compiling a working, searchable online database of nongovernmental and governmental organizations working in atrocity prevention.

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health & Society Scholars program seeks to improve the nation’s health by addressing the full spectrum of factors that affect health and creating the evidence to inform policy in multiple sectors that can promote health. The program trains scholars to investigate the effects of contextual factors on behavior and biology in order to strengthen the knowledge base supporting population-wide interventions.Role:- Transcribing recorded interviews that addressed the evolution and expansion of Medicare and Medicaid policy from its inception.- Conducting online research regarding congressional voting records, testimonies, and hearings; lobbying data within the health services and HMO industries; and Malawian LGBT and civil rights groups.- Extracting and compiling data sets to further scholars' research (this includes election data, mortality and vitality data, and others)- Developing a database to track government assistance programs related to health policy from the 1950s onward.My work at the RWJ Program has allowed me to delve deeper into tested and proven methods of research as well as taught me an invaluable amount of information concerning Medicare, Managed Care, Medicaid, Medigap, and other aspects of American health policy.

The Junior State of America (JSA) was created by and for young people interested in what happens around them – from politics, to how government works, and contributing to their community. Since its founding in 1934, JSA has served as a place where students build leadership skills, learn civil debate, and strengthen their engagement through volunteering and activism. More than 500,000 students have graduated high school as more active, informed members of their community as a result of their participation in JSA.Role:- Served as 1st in command of a state of over 80 high school chapters and more than 1,000 members, responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the state including finances.- Managed a cabinet of 122 members that cohesively worked to serve the delegates of the state through increasing communication, addressing programming concerns, and supplementing traditional secondary education with civic education and debate.- Organized three statewide conventions for members to debate domestic and foreign policy issues, simulate bill passage in state government, and encourage discussion of controversial social problems.- Facilitated the development of debate topics and led workshops to teach proper debate and moderator techniques.- Sat as a voting member of the Council of Governors, the governing body of the national organization.
