As the Senior Quality Engineering Lead, for the Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP), Pressurized Rover (PR) Project, and ISS Program, within the Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate, I am responsible for leading a team of multi-disciplinary and multi -organizational technical experts. I am responsible for the technical integration of NASA subject matter experts associated with the EHP Program. The EHP Quality Engineering Office coordinates and integrates EHP level requirements with Service Providers and provides information and support to ensure the success of the EHP.

As Deputy Chief of the Program Technical Integration Branch, in the Project Management and Systems Engineering Division within the Engineering Directorate, I was responsible for providing technical leadership, direction, identifying technical requirements, managing system engineering and integration functions, as well as management of staff activities to ensure products and services met Program Chief Engineer and Agency Program requirements.

As an Engineering Technical Point of Contact, I was responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining NASA and the Institute of Printed Circuits (IPC) International Standards for the HLS Program. In addition, I support Human Landing System Program Management and Technical Authorities, in accessing risks associated with activities during the design, development, test, and operational phases of the Program lifecycle. I also develop, apply, and maintain procedures to ensure Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) of products, assets, materials, and supplies in compliance to internal and external quality system standards, and maintain vast implementation knowledge of tool maintenance, product functionality, and production processes, as well as coordinating internal and external audits.

As an International Programs Specialist at the NASA Headquarters, in the Office of International and Interagency Relations, Science Division, I was responsible for drafting, editing, and negotiating space law, planning, preparation, operation, and coordination of actions, communications and reports concerning the international aspects of the Science Mission Directorate Programs and Projects.

Quality Engineering Lead for the Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER). The VIPER Mission explored the relatively nearby but extreme environment of the Moon in search of water, ice and other potential resources. The critical information obtained would inform us about the origin and distribution of water on the Moon and assist in determining how NASA can harvest the Moon’s resources for future human space exploration.

Acting Quality Lead for the NT Quality Engineering Branch. As the Acting Quality Technical Team Lead, in the NT Quality Engineering Branch, it provided an opportunity, to enhance my leadership portfolio through reaching across NT Branch boundaries, treading a path of competing interests and unique NT Division cultures, while cultivating an agile and technically perceptive team of Quality professionals.

Quality Lead for the Flight Test Management Office, Ascent Abort-2 (AA-2) Flight Test, an important test on the critical path of returning NASA Astronauts to Space Flight from NASA Vehicles – Orion under the Artemis Program. The AA-2 Flight Test successfully demonstrated the Agency’s ability to remove the Crew from the Rocket if an Abort Scenario.

Technical Management Assistant providing support to the Division Chief in the Safety, Quality, and Management Systems Division, Stennis Space Center. Provided strategic approaches for the implementation of a new Audit System at the Center, assisted the Division Chief in prioritizing work load of the division, as well as planned and developed long-range and specific projects for future division growth.

Served as the Associate Division Chief for the Quality and Flight Equipment Division in the Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) Directorate. Ensured S&MA was preeminent across multiple programs and projects at the Johnson Space Center (JSC). Responsible for leading the integration of Division activities and acting as the Division Chief in the absence of the Chief and Deputy Chief. Responsible for the Safety, Reliability, and Quality Assurance processes, requirements, and policies in support of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Extravehicular Activity, Payloads, the International Space Station, the Orion Program, the Commercial Crew Program, and the Advance Exploration Systems (AES) Projects.

Served as the Orion Program Quality Lead in the Quality and Flight Equipment Division. As the Quality Lead, Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, Orion Program, I was responsible for the overall development, implementation and management of the Quality Program. Developed quality policies, quality guidelines, and seamless implementation plans. Responsible for ensuring policies, and guidelines were implemented and utilized in a manner beneficial to the Orion Program. Resolved technical issues, and provided solutions and recommendations to technical problems. Collaborated with the Engineering Program Office, to ensure comprehensive program objectives, schedules, and budgets were met and maintained.

Served as the Deputy Project Manager in the Software, Robotics and Simulation Division, Engineering Directorate. As the Deputy Project Manager, managed the $25 Million dollar International Space Station Simplified Aid for Extra Vehicle Activity Rescue Project. Responsible for all aspects of technical and budgetary Project/Program formulation, and implementation. Developed, reviewed, and provided recommendations for proposed Project/Program requirements, expected results, and budgetary estimates. Established and executed the projects monthly budgetary process for reporting to the International Space Station Program and the Engineering Division.

Served as a Systems Integration Engineer, in the Institutional NT/Flight Equipment Division, as a recognized expert, in systems engineering and quality engineering practices. Applied innovative solutions and techniques to develop new and succinct methodologies, processes and procedures that ensured the integration of Institutional, Program and Project requirements.

Served as the Hardware Systems Lead, in the Program Planning and Control Office / Information Systems Office, Configuration Management within the Constellation Program. Responsible for leading and managing activities and individuals in planning, developing, coordinating, and directing the technical requirements of Product and Process Configuration; developing concepts of operation, plans and procedures for spacecraft hardware and or software systems, in addition to; Requirement Identification, Configuration Status Accounting, Audit Verification and Validation and Contractor Management.

Served as the Quality Engineer and Technical Authority for the Reusable Solid Rocket Booster Project, Booster Separation Motor Project, Space Shuttle Program, the Crew Launch Vehicle First Stage Element Constellation Program, and the Launch Processing and Operations Flight Systems Division. Responsible for providing quality technical direction and expert advice in the areas of quality engineering development, manufacturing, production, and testing related to the conception, definition, direction, verification, and risk evaluation of human rated flight hardware.

Performed project planning and oversight of Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Certification requirements to ensure final product specifications.• Reviewed Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) prior to Critical Design Reviews.• Developed and maintained internal quality procedures and process guidelines.• Managed the development, generation, and control of Payload Interface Requirements in support of the Space Shuttle Program and the International Space Station.• Developed product schedules and maintained project assignments regarding the development of flight hardware capabilities, crew procedures and crew displays.• Performed project planning and oversight of Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews and Certification requirements to ensure final product specifications.
