odo:office for design operations is a cross-disciplinary practice centered on the exploration of social issues through architectural techniques and design strategies. the practice positions architecture and design at the intersection of current events that continue to shape and direct the course of society's future. as architects and designers we have the responsibility to define history and shape the future.

OOAc was one of the 10 companies out of more than 560 start-ups that were invited to participate in the accelerator program that started in September 2015. During this intense 3-month long program, we have met with more than 150 mentors who participated in lending their knowledge and expertise various areas including marketing & public relations, instructional design, business development, seed round fundraising and branding. My contributions during this program resulted in gaining investor interests from HBSNYAngels, EDGE and other seed funding investor groups.

Co-curated the Resilience by Design conference and exhibition event at the United Nations on December 2, 2014 along with Dr. Ivan Shumkov, PhD. and Illac Angelo Diaz. The conference included representatives from various organizations such as OCHA, UN Global Pulse, MIT's Urban Risk Lab, A Liter of Light and Open Online Academy. It was held at the Dag Hammarskjöld Library Auditorium in the United Nations Secretariat Building. The exhibition reception for the Resilience by Design event featured 4 projects from the Designing Resilient Schools course and 4 projects from the Designing Emergency Shelters course. Key note speakers included the Ambassador of the Portuguese Mission to the United Nations and the Deputy Ambassador of the Philippine Mission to the United Nations. The Resilience by Design event was organized by OOAc along with the United Nations Office of Collaborations. Future student works exhibitions are currently in negotiations.

Editor for the forthcoming student works design catalog of the Designing Resilient Schools course. Led a team of design collaborators from Europe, Asia and North America to produce publications of Open Online Academy student works. The catalog will feature the top 16 teams that participated in the 8-week design MOOC in the first half of 2014.

Instructor for sustainable and resilient design MOOCs using Human Centered Design (HCD) principles.Designing Resilient Schools course was developed as a direct response to the unprecedented devastation caused by super typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda in the Tacloban region of the Philippines on November 2013. With over 5000 sign-ups by participants from various countries in 6 continents, teams were formed to develop school projects centered on resilience and sustainability using local materials and construction methodology with careful considerations given to the contextual factors of climate, culture, socioeconomics and politics. The top four projects from this course will be recommended for construction. In addition, the top 16 team projects were part of a traveling exhibition that started at CONEX 2014 in Manila while the top 4 projects were exhibited at the United Nations as part of the Resilience by Design conference and exhibition event on December 2, 2014. Further exhibitions worldwide are currently in negotiations. A student works catalog of the top 16 team projects is forthcoming. Designing Emergency Shelters course was initiated in response to the growing global need for better-designed emergency shelters to serve victims of natural disasters and political conflicts in different parts of the world. Offered in July 2014 this 8-week design course gathered more than 1200 participants from various nations across 5 continents. The teams produced more than 32 emergency shelter projects that were situated in different contexts. Each giving considerations to the various contextual factors ranging from geography, culture, logistics, socioeconomics and politics. In partnership with the United Nations Office of Collaborations, the top 4 projects were exhibited at the United Nations as part of the Resilience by Design conference and exhibition event on December 2, 2014.
