I have been involved in the Medical Manufacturing field for over 11 years. My career started in 2011 working in a warehouse as a receiving clerk at a Medical Device company, to the point now where I am a Supervisor in a Pilot Pharmaceutical department for a combination Medical Device/Pharmaceutical product. My years of experience have granted me a wide range of skills and abilities in the work place. My humble beginnings allow me to maintain a realistic approach to working with my team members in my position now. My greatest trait is that I can step into any role confidently and do whatever it takes to not only be successful, but to excel at the task and role I am given. In 2011, I started as a receiving clerk in Axelgaard Manufacturing CO LTD. I spent two years in that position before I was able to get a role on the gel line, which was the main production line of the company. After a little over a year, I was trained to work on the R.E.M. Slitter. My six years at Axelgaard prepared me for my time at Glaukos Corporation. I started at Glaukos in 2017, shortly after getting married, I was brought on in a temporary contract as a Manufacturing Technician II in the Pilot Operations department. I started at Glaukos working on the final injector assembly that was going through the PMA process in preparation for commercial launch. After spending eight months as a temp, I was hired on full time at Glaukos. I continued with Pilot Operations after it took on a combination medical device/pharmaceutical product that had filed its IND. As we progressed through clinical trials, I became a SME for implant tare/filled weights (using a sartorius microbalance), container filling, implant prep, implant crimping, visual inspection, inserter assembly, membrane forming (elution controlling agent), and component prep. After a few batches, I started to reconcile batch records and review documentation for completion and accuracy to GDP standards. In 2020, I became the Lead Manufacturing Technician of the Pilot Pharmaceutical department and my career took a completely different turn. I was very much hands off with production on the floor but became hands on in the background aspects of the process. I assisted engineering with redlining documents to accurately portray operation steps on the floor, assigned work orders to technicians on the floor, set production scheduling for builds, tracked inventory, qualified new trainers, and used Oracle to integrate paper documents into the electronic system. My experience as a lead helped me to get to my current position as a Supervisor.
