Biotech R&D Dept: Various aspects of biocatalysis such as various titrimetric and spectrophotometric methods of determining enzyme activity and commercial application of enzymes. As a part of the major project, I worked on the chiral resolution of APIs with the help of enzymes. MSAT ( Manufacturing, Sciences and Technology)- Insulin: Monitoring the fermentation and cell separation aspects of large scale production of insulin and its analogues. Various parameters of fermentation like temperature, DO2 content, back pressure, flow rates of various feed, wet cell weight, titre and product content were monitored with respect to log hours. The feed and supernatant flow rates during the centrifugation passes of the harvested fermentation broth were also monitored. Gained knowledge over handling instruments such as analytical RP-HPLC, pH meter, NTU meter, viscosity meter, vacuum filter, positive pressure filter (MDI unit) and techniques such as filtration, determination of Packed Cell Volume, BCA Analysis.
