Information Technology Business AnalystMedtronic Sep 2024 - PresentVancouver, British Columbia, CanadaJoined the Medtroinic SPC IT Team as a Business Analyst for a major SPC project across 25 sites in North America.This project involved liasing with the site to gather requirements, including the data that they were using to calculate scrap, yield and process performance. We then worked with the Snowflake teams to collate this data into an overall standardised solution that could monitor these sites and show detailed information on each of them.My role in this project included mapping the data across various ERP systems, including SPACE, QAD, IQS and SAP. I also performed data validations on the Snowflake data sets to ensure no errors. -

This included: conducting impact assessments, managing open actions, performing training needs analysis, manage training resources, communicate & organize Key User training, aiding the business in monitoring the processes in the plant & supervising a team to create training material for 550+ users.- Managed the project portfolio of S&PS (Signal & Power Solutions) along with other project managers. Highlights of these projects include setting up a new manufcturing site in Morocco, as well as helping to stand up a multi-year digitalisation project.Network Security Manager | Oct 2022 - July 2023:- For my third rotation, I spent time with the Local Area Networking team in Aptiv Dublin.- During this time, I upgraded Cisco WAPs to EMEA Controller 4 from Controller 3, working with plant IT Managers across EMEA.- I also took part in the Global LAN refresh project, providing updated hardware for plants worldwide, leading to improved security and optimization.- During my time on the team, I would also weekly manage the networking equipment inventory which is managed through our Dublin office. -

Senior/Head InstructorRoyal Cork Yacht Club Feb 2017 - Aug 2018Crosshaven, County CorkAfter talking to the previous Head Instructor, he encouraged me to apply to be a Head Instructor in the year of 2017.I was interviewed and chosen from other candidates to be the Head Instructor for the RCYC in 2017.This gave me many new responsibilities, including:o Designing a course syllabus for the summer of 2017/2018o Going over and updating the Procedural and Safety Documentation which govern the Policies of the club.o Managing the Interviewing process and picking out the Candidates for Instructors, which this year included over 40 applicants.o Assigning resources to different courses running throughout the Summer.o Managing and Ensuring the Safety of all Trainees on the Sailing Course which last year included more than 300 trainees over the course of the Summer.o As well as Keeping the Trainees Safe, making sure the Instructors follow the Policies and Safety Procedures laid out by the club, to ensure everyone is kept safe.o Liaising with The Club Manager and Facilities Manager of the club to ensure the sailing course did not affect the day-to-day running of the club.As well as work in the RCYC on weekdays, I also worked as Head Instructor in Cobh Sailing club on Saturdays, where I had many of the same responsibilities, albeit in a much smaller club.My time as a Head Instructor has taught me a lot, including being punctual, organised, friendly and approachable, but the most important thing I learned is the need to be passionate in what you are doing, as it made the time I have been working at the RCYC much more enjoyable for me, and I hope for everyone else.
