I was the 3rd employee at Quantiply. My role at Quantiply has evolved to satisfy the needs of an early stage startup company. My focus at Quantiply is to build prototypes for product ideas and to validate them with a customer using live data to solve real business problems. I helped deliver several production grade data driven applications for our design partner (a large financial services company). Some of these applications ingest billions of events per day for real-time decision management. These applications are used daily by operations, engineering, product and customer service teams. My latest project was to design and build a self service platform for building data intensive applications. It allows data scientists and developers to develop, test and deploy realtime data applications quickly by providing them with personalized, isolated and secure workspaces. Users can quickly add Kafka, Elasticsearch, HDFS and Spark clusters to their workspace and deploy their code as docker containers. The platform leverages Kubernetes, Docker and Ceph to provide a fully dynamic experience.

I was part of the initial data scientist team at Infochimps.I helped build data intensive applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for various use cases. I also provided technical and analytical support to customer data science teams for building data products using the data sources managed by Infochimps. I worked on both realtime and batch applications. I architected and built production grade real time data processing pipelines (using Apache Storm and Apache Kafka) for aggregating social, text, log, clickstream and telemetry data and storing them in a terabyte scale datastore (like Elasticsearch, HBase and HDFS). I was also involved in architecting and building large scale data warehouses using Hadoop.My role at Infochimps allowed to me to add value at each stage of delivering a data intensive application. My responsibilities were : * Helping the sales team to qualify the opportunities and support them technically in customer meetings. * Interviewing customers to gather requirements and designing a solution using the Infochimps big data platform. * Building infrastructure in the AWS cloud for proposed solution using automation tools like Chef. * Building scalable data pipelines for ingesting and processing data. * Enhance and update Infochimps data platform when required. * Train and support customer teams to build data applications on the platform

I interned with the IBM SPSS Big Data Team.I developed a customer facing demo for showcasing on Big Data capabilities of IBM SPSS Analytic Engine, a new Big Data enabled backend server for IBM SPSS Modeler. I also extended the QA framework and developed test cases for Hadoop based Analytic Engine components.
