CurrentThe 28th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol in October 2016 held in Kigali, Rwanda, agreed on the amendment to phase down hydrofluorocarbons (HFC). The amendment laid out HFC phase down goals for Article 5 countries and put in place the implementation mechanism. The Kigali Amendment was ratified in Cameroon in August 2021, and came into effect in the country in November 2021.As a national communication consultant, I carry out the following tasks in close consultation with UNIDO project manager, other international and national consultants, the National Ozone Office, beneficiary companies, and other stakeholders.Develop, implement, and keep updating the Ministry’s communication plan Propose, establish, and keep improving the beneficiary database by continuously updating the beneficiary list as well as other stakeholders by receiving all deliverables such as the recovered amount of refrigerants committed under the working agreement with the beneficiaries. Coordinate with the National Ozone Office and technical consultants to identify beneficiaries (particularly female), prepare communication materials with consistent designs, interview stakeholders, and ensure to distribution of the materials to the right target segments Interviews with relevant stakeholders to inform all target stakeholders at the national level of the ongoing phase-out of HCFCs and upcoming phase-down of HFCs Communication and advocacy materials developed and distributed to the right target segments who are informed of the ongoing phase-out of HCFCs and upcoming phase-down of HFCs Coordinate with the customs office and importers on the ongoing phase-out of HCFCs and upcoming phase-down of HFCs Keep the media companies and journalists informed of the above information with all developed communication materials
