I'm deeply passionate about problem-solving, a trait that has defined my journey from childhood to my current career. As a kid, I had an insatiable curiosity for understanding how things worked. I would often dismantle broken equipment like radios and wall clocks, driven by a determination to fix them. Although my attempts often ended with my mom chasing me around the house for leaving things in pieces, my persistence never wavered. I would return to the challenge, undeterred by setbacks, until I either succeeded or learned from the experience.These early inclinations shaped my career choices, all centred around three core themes: problem-solving, risk-taking, and persistence. I began as a QA engineer, eager to identify and fix problems. While I excelled at spotting issues, opportunities to resolve them were scarce. It was during my time as a Lead QA Engineer at Vocera Communications that I discovered my true calling. Tasked with developing a mobile app prototype for hospital staff, I identified fundamental requirement issues. With no product manager assigned, I took the initiative to define requirements, engaging with sales and operations to understand the doctors' challenges. This experience ignited my passion for product management, revealing it as the ultimate realm for problem solvers.I embraced risk by joining ExperienceFlow, an early-stage startup as its first employee, transitioning from Engineering Director to Product Director. Over a decade, I led the product from ideation to launch, creating something remarkable. Yet, I realized I had settled into a comfort zone, hindering my growth. At 40, I took a bold step, leaving my job to pursue a master’s in global management degree from Royal Roads University in Canada. This transformative experience exposed me to a diverse cohort, enriching my perspective.Post-graduation, I joined Amazon as a Senior Product Manager, tackling challenges in their Amazon XL division’s last-mile delivery centers. This role provided invaluable insights into how structured processes facilitate problem-solving, highlighting areas for improvement at ExperienceFlow, my former company. After a year and a half at Amazon, I returned to ExperienceFlow, driven by a desire to apply my newfound knowledge and rectify past mistakes. Today, I am dedicated to leveraging these experiences to address customer challenges and propel ExperienceFlow to new heights.
