About Jaclyn Layton
Our collective mental health is valuable, as it has the power to influence the ways in which we connect with each other. I enjoy working in an environment where I can encourage a team around me to think outside the bounds of status-quo to influence positive change. I am currently pursuing my MEd in School Counseling and Licensed Mental Health Counseling from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. My role as an adjunct artist has led me to teach art and painting to students ranging from ages 5 to 65. My passion for data gives me the the confidence to provide my students the best education possible while simultaneously promoting growth through process art. My favorite part is seeing each student's unique approach to art making.In addition to my professional experiences, my passion for social justice and environmental issues have found me spending my personal time and resources attending meetings on homeless response, environmental sustainability, as well as feminist aligned work groups.
