IFAW rescues, rehabilitates and releases animals, and restore and protect their natural habitats and engages with governments, non-governmental organisations and businesses to advocate for positive change. Responsiblities:• Public Affairs - direct engagement of senior level stakeholders including relevant Secretary of State and junior Ministers. Establishing and building on relationships within Westminster and devolved administrations leading to tangible legislative change.• Policy - liaising with departmental officials to advocate on a number of policy areas including: Animal Welfare, Marine Conservation, the Illegal Wildlife Trade and Human/Wildlife Conflict. • Supporter Engagement - creating engaging content and actions for tens of thousands of supporters across the UK. Utilising this engagment to target decision makers and to build relationships.• Communications - creating thought leadership peices, responding to media enquiries and working closely with Communications team to aplify my work and build the reputation of the organisation.• Management - managing our Political Officer and a number of volunteers who joined to assist with policy research.• Events and Presentation - Including managing party conference exhibition stand, guest lecturer at the University of Winchester, representing IFAW at international policy conferences

Established more than 70 years ago NDCS are the leading charity for deaf children. Providing expert support on childhood deafness, raise awareness and campaign for deaf children’s rights, so they have the same opportunities as everyone else.Working both nationally and regionally to remove the barriers that deaf children face.Including: • Delivering on national campaigns strategy to bring about positive policy change• Successful local campaigns, which engaged and supported local groups to improve services across England and avoid cuts to services.• Developing and maintaining relationships with local and national government officials • Managing the Campaigns Team blog and other social media including Twitter and Facebook• Developing videos and other creative and innovative campaigns methods• Surveying and analysing Campaigns Network and finding ways to improve engagement• Representing the organisation at the Disability Benefits Consortium (DBC) • Writing policy briefings for audiences including the Public Accounts Committee and UN

Working as part of a busy campaigns team, to support the delivery of the flagship campaign, Adult Learners’ Week. Also working to implement other national campaigns and communications activity.This work has included; - overseeing all facets of the creation of a nationally distributed publication; - arranging events, writing risk assessments and method statements, booking venues, etc. - working face to face with the public at promotional events; - copy writing; - data analysis; - and relationship management.
