Arthur Kay B.Sc. (Hons), F IDM has a strong background in IT and its application in financial services, having previously worked, since his graduation in 1973, for both ICL (now part of the Fujistu-Siemens group) and Girobank as a Systems Designer and Business Analyst. He joined Crawfords Computing as a freelance consultant in 1990 in order to develop its database business. He subsequently participated in a management buy out of the company from United Biscuits plc. and became Technology Director of the new company: Crawfords Computing Ltd., gaining extensive experience in name-and-address processing, marketing database development and ancillary services. Amongst other database projects, he supervised the implementation of online, multi-user marketing databases for the Lloyds TSB Group, the Nationwide Building Society and Eurotunnel. Following the sale of Crawfords Computing Ltd to Hays plc in 1999 he continued as Technology Director of Hays Marketing Technology for 3 years and subsequently left to form Synaxis Data Services Ltd, a software development and consultancy company developing both ETL and Marketing Database software and offering CRM-oriented technology and services.Specialties: Business analysis, data analysis, large volume data processing, data warehousing, direct marketing (B2C and B2B), banking software, engineering/diagnostic software
