About Arthur Stefanski

I'm currently a PhD candidate at the Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations department. My research investigates the political architectonic and spatial strategies of the Akkadian imperial administration at the site of Khafajah (ancient Tutub) in the Diyala region of Iraq, reinterpreting archival data from the Oriental Institute's Diyala Expedition excavations in the 1930s. I have been involved in archaeological fieldwork in Jordan, Iraqi Kurdistan, and elsewhere, as well as research projects at the Royal Ontario Museum and the Oriental Institute Museum.
