CurrentWith Clarity is a VC-backed E-commerce jewelry startup. I was employee #1 and hired by the founding team to build the Operations and Logistics organizations and to develop processes for production. I hired and managed a team that grew to 10 FTEs, built a scalable jewelry production process, launched an Operations department, and designed a fulfillment infrastructure that enabled 10,000% customer growth in three years, with custom jewelry delivered in under two weeks. I fostered a “3P” efficiency culture across Operations and set team KPIs (e.g. orders fulfilled, packages shipped) and company KPIs (e.g. jewelry and loose diamond finishing, annual inventory turnover ratio, returns). Highlights:• Introduced molds for popular jewelry styles to improve cost effectiveness and first pass yield.• Developed a homegrown order and inventory management system to automate order routing and fulfillment practices to reduce need for staff and enable JIT fulfillment that scaled to 15k orders annually. • Built a global diamond supply chain sourcing practice and led negotiations with international vendors (e.g. diamond manufacturers, jewelry setters, casting houses).• Developed and merchandised five bespoke product lines, increasing the customer product attachment rate to 20% and growing lifetime value.• Built a natural and lab-grown diamond inventory based on sales trends and forecasting. Ran tests to identify demand between products acquired via various sourcing methods to optimize procurement and inventory. • Reduced return and repair costs 20% YoY by introducing custom CAD images for every ring for design verification and training the QC department to ensure diamonds were properly set and designs were well-executed.
