Machinery Outfit Design

• Preparation of Piping/Marine Systems drawings, Class and Statutory documentation for vessels.• Preparation of calculations, such as pipe sizing, Engine room HVAC, fan capacity calculation, exhausts back pressure, pump sizing (Also used FluidFlow3 software for these calculations).• Coordinate with external engineering companies for detailed engineering as and when required.• Validation/Review of drawings from Designer/Contractor in line with contract specification, class requirements. • Liaison with Owner, Designer and subcontractor to ensure adherence to project schedules.• Review of 3D Model for the verification system completion, compliance with specification, standards, rules and regulations, clash checking, and maintenance aspects. • Define and establish standards and Yard practices to be followed by subcontractor for 3D modelling.• Prepare technical specification for Propulsion and shaft line for the vessels.• Supervise and drive team of draftsmen (in house team or subcontractor) for timely completion of detailed engineering and drawing issue to meet project schedules.• Resolving issues/bottlenecks by communicating with other sections/departments.• Preparation of Technical specification for equipment procurement and detailed Technical evaluation of offers, conducting Technical Negotiations between prospective suppliers.• A team member for finalizing design/engineering contracts for projects.

• Modified fuel oil system (cargo and service system) in compliance with Marpol Regulation 12A to meet new regulation that came into force (1 StAugust 2010) to avoid double hull construction for the last vessel in the series (of 12 vessels).• 3D modeling and detailed engineering, piping arrangement drawings for Platform supply vessels in AutoCAD.• Interacting with the Designer, Owner, and Class.• Preparation and scrutiny of technical specifications for procurement of Auxiliary equipment and firefighting systems for the ship.• Detailed Technical evaluation of offers, and conducting Technical Negotiations between prospective suppliers.• Liaison with the Owner, Designer, and OEMs to ensure adherence to project schedules.• In charge of the successful installation, commissioning, and completion of Engine room Tests and Trials during Sea Trials of 2 Vessels in a series of bulk carrier projects.
