Used my wide range of data skills to support text reporters from breaking news to investigations. Projects included:- Cleaning tens of thousands of pages of FOIA-ed PDFs and conducting exploratory analysis to generate reporting leads for Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalists- Creating a dashboard to regularly pull data from multiple sources on tornadoes, identify data discrepancies requiring manual follow up with sources, and generate lines and graphics for automatically-determined newsworthy trends- Building internal tooling to make manipulation and analysis of satellite imagery easier- Outlining and partially implementing a Python library to pull data from the AP Elections API- On-the-ground reporting and interviews

Developing CV models and a human-centered pipeline to aid the EPA in locating industrial facilities that violate Clean Water Act regulation. Prior project used government reports, interviews, and academic literature to explore the tension between data privacy and bias assessment interests in federal agencies.

Designed and co-taught a project-based service learning class at Stanford about the environmental and labor justice implications of land use. Created syllabus, arranged twenty-plus speakers, and built close relationships with five community partners. Designed and managed projects to meet students' educational goals, partners' needs, and build the foundation for long-term collaboration. Led a team of three other student instructors.Class received 3x more applications than spots and rave reviews its first year, securing increased funding and continued enrollment numbers the second year.

Use image processing techniques to explore differential access to privacy in Google Street View images of urbanizing cities across racial and economic lines.

Used web-scraping to analyze SEC administrative records and create a database of individuals sanctioned by the SEC.

Interviewed elections officials, analyzed state law, and monitored ongoing legal action to contribute to a 60-page memo about vote-by-mail processes in battlegrounds states during the 2020 election.

Used Siemens NX to design aerodynamic car chassis. Designed a latch mechanism by creating a CAD model, researching appropriate components, and conducting FEA.
