My childhood was spent exploring jungles, playing in natural streams, enjoying farm-fresh fruits, and marveling at the grandeur of the mountains. These experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the environment and a commitment to protecting it.Climate Change is a natural phenomenon, but the alarming rate at which it is progressing sparked my interest. During my UPSC preparation, I was particularly drawn to Environmental Issues and Geography. I became fascinated by how environmental challenges are reshaping natural processes, the work of organizations addressing these issues, and the strategies global leaders are implementing to safeguard our planet.This passion led me to pursue a Master’s in Environmental Sciences 👩🏻‍🎓, marking the beginning of my career in sustainability.I began working in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Compliance, focusing on plastic waste, e-waste and battery waste. Over the past two and a half years, I’ve supported 350+ clients. As Head of Compliance at The Trash Company, my key responsibilities included:- Staying informed on Environmental Laws and using this knowledge to guide clients through complex regulations.- Learning from industry experts and continuously enhancing my skills.- Efficient planning and organization to manage projects and meet deadlines.- Providing comprehensive client support with a focus on empathy, transparency, and tailored solutions.These experiences have sharpened my skills in environmental compliance, client management, and the implementation of sustainable practices.Transitioning to ESG, Sustainability Reporting, and Climate PolicyI am transitioning into ESG and sustainability reporting, with a strong focus on climate policy-making and implementation. My goal is to help organizations navigate complex regulations, drive transparency, and foster sustainability.
