I'm a screenwriter, director and producer based out of Bangalore, well entrenched in the southern film industry with an overall experience of 19 years, among which the first 8 years were spent in the IT industry. My passion for films beckoned and I quit the IT industry for good. In the last 11 years, I have produced, written and directed a few short films and 2 feature films. Arishadvarga, my last feature film had its world premiere at the prestigious “London Indian Film Festival 2019”, a theatrical release in November 2020 and now is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.My skill sets include content development, screenwriting, script consulting, direction, end-to-end production and post-production (editing, vfx supervision, sound design and color grading). I also consult for a few major film festivals and studios for their technical needs. I speak about 8 languages fluently. An avid reader, my areas of interest include but are not limited to fiction, non-fiction, philosophy, western classics, biographies, mythology/epics and humanities. Traveling is something I look forward to, for it allows me to immerse myself in diverse people, languages, cultures and experiences.Proud recipient of an exchange program called "Understanding the Other" conducted by the “University of Gothenburg”, Sweden in association with “Suchitra Film Society & Centre for Film & Drama”, held at Istanbul, Turkey, mentored by the renowned theater & film practitioner “Prakash Belawadi”. Also a visiting faculty and speaker at various institutions like NICC, iReboot, Suchitra Film Society and IIT Chennai.An active member of the founding committee and a jury member of “Bangalore International Short Film Festival”. Also the "Chief Programmer & Curator" and a core team member of the FIAPF accredited prestigious "Bangalore International Film Festival" organized by the Government of Karnataka which completed 13 successful editions and stepping into its 14th.My forte is my diverse/rich experience and exposure. I believe I bring an interesting 19 years of an amalgam of Information Technology, Management and Film-making (creative, technical as well as production) experience like no one else to the table. In the early 2017, I co-founded "Kanasu Talkies" with a mad bunch of like minded cinephiles, a film production house with an unflinching singular idea of developing & producing honest, unique, engaging & entertaining films and "Arishadvarga" is the first of many to come.Ad Film-making has been a recent addition to my diverse repertoire.

I was invited to take on the role of the "Chief Programmer & Curator" for the "Cinema of the World" section. Me and my team curated about 200 world class films from around the world within a short period of 3 months time. -
Writer, Editor, Producer & DirectorArishadvarga - Kannada Feature Film Feb 2017 - Jul 2019BangaloreArishadvarga is a Kannada language feature film, produced by Kanasu Talkies, written, edited and directed by Arvind Kamath. It had its world premiere at the prestigious “London Indian Film Festival 2019”, followed by “Singapore South Asian Film Festival 2019”, “Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival 2019” and a theatrical release in November 2020. Despite the COVID crisis, it ran for 50 days successfully. We also had a small scale pan India release (5 Metro cities) and now the film is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. In the recent past, Arishadvarga has been the most consistently well reviewed and critically acclaimed film. It also received huge voluntary press coverage.Apart from being the writer & director of the film, I have also edited the film along with the national awardee editor Bina Paul and handled the end-to-end production responsibilities.

Technical ConsultantBangalore International Film Festival Dec 2013 - Feb 2018BangaloreWhen the shift happened from film stock to digital not just with camera technologies but also projection systems, filmmakers were introduced to something alien called DCP (Digital Cinema Package).It was around the same time that I was trying to get distribution for my first feature film "Innuendo", which needed a DCP print to make the theatrical exhibition cut.Curiosity led me to read and learn more about it and eventually my keen interest in the technology lead me to train myself. Around that time (2013) since I was the only freelance DCP expert, I was approached by film festivals from around the country to consult for them, as they too were transitioning from film to digital. My responsibilities included, QC, troubleshooting and fixing all the DCPs received. Programming the projection systems for different aesthetic formats from across the world and setting them up to multitask on DCPs, Blurays & Laptops. And training the projection and festival staff for the duration of the festival.
