Finance & Accounting professional for 8 years - successfully transitioned to the IT industry playing various roles in the tech space for 17 years - quit the Corporate world in 2015 to start an entrepreneurial venture in Ed-tech - now actively involved in the Social sector for the past few years. After a fruitful career of about 25 years in the corporate world, working for MNCs like IBM, HP, Infosys, iGate, Ramco and Unisys, Arvind pursued his calling in the social sector, post a brief stint as a startup entrepreneur in the edTech space.Arvind’s passion towards the education of children living in rural areas, by leveraging on technology, got him associated with NGOs like Shankar Mahadevan Academy Trust and Happy World Foundation. Few of his initiatives like setting up wi-fi enabled community centers in the rural areas during the Covid pandemic and setting up digital libraries in villages, were published in the Times of India and Deccan Herald in 2020.After 4 years of service in the social sector, he founded a Not-for-Profit called "Sharada Educational Trust” in April 2022, focused on rural education and women empowerment in Karnataka. So far the NGO has impacted more than 2,000 children and women through programs such as a) Financial Literacy for rural kids, b) Spoken English course and MargaDarshak program targeted at Govt. School Teachers and College students (girls), c) planting saplings with students in the Govt schools, d) setting up Libraries and e) Financial Inclusion for urban and rural women.He is one of the 150+ signatories, on the #LivingMyPromise platform, who have pledged to give back 50% of their wealth towards social causes. Arvind is a qualified CMA (Cost & Management Accountant), CS (Company Secretary) with a MBA in Banking from the CFA Institute. He is PMP certified and also possesses Certification in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.He strongly believes that “Success is not measured in the amount of dollars you make, but the amount of lives you impact.”
