I created an independent research project in order to learn more about the issue of American food insecurity, and hone my data science skills. Supervised by Professor Ajit Sharma at Wayne State University, I created easily navigable visuals about state and national-level food insecurity from 2011-2020 using publicly accessible data using R-coding. The BrandLab’s mission is to create creative problem solvers who can change the face of the marketing industry. As a paid summer intern, I was part of a cohort that collectively learned marketing and networking skills, while impacting different local businesses. I was placed at Milwaukee Magazine, a prominent local magazine. I learned how to craft, write, and understand the viewpoint of others.
