Got my Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence (ICAO Type II) in January 1980 and got ratings for Wide and Narrow body Boeing and Airbus aircraft.Worked as certifying engineer all over the world including stints as Maintenance Manager at Changi Airport, Singapore and Abu Dhabi International Airports culminating in in-charge of maintenance of all Air India flights operating at airports in Europe and UK in my capacity as Regional Maintenance Manager based at London Heathrow Airport in London, UK.Made a move to Quality management in year 2000 and spent five years as Deputy Quality Control Manager in-charge of Insp records section before taking up assignment in London. After returning from London I worked as a team leader tasked with preparation of MOE (Maintenance Organization Exposition) of NACIL (Merged entity of Air India and Indian Airlines). This short term assignment (from Sept 2007 to Dec 2008) gave me thorough understanding of the new regulatory regime (Parts 66, 145, 147 & 'M') adopted by Indian aviation industry. I can say with some justifiable pride that Air India was successfully granted CAR 145 approval in Dec 2008.I took over the responsibility of post holder under Part 145 as Quality Manager in Jan 2009 and discharged the functions till my superannuation in March 2013.
