As a health coach with nearly a decade in the industry, I had the privilege of working in a variety of different environments, from commercial gyms to clinical settings. This allowed me to interact with a diverse client population.After years of experience, I understood how to uncover the deeper motivations and insecurities my clients were facing. The conversations I was having with my clients were complex and emotional. I realized that my passion lied in connecting with people, over and above simply getting them physically healthy. Unfortunately I was not equipped to tackle these problems. This gap in my skillset is what initially motivated me to seek further education in mental health support, culminating in my enrolment in the Master of Pastoral Studies program at Emmanuel College. The learning that has taken place since starting the program has been phenomenal. Not only do I feel like I am more equipped to counsel my clients, but I have developed self-awareness that has helped me in my personal and professional relationships.I am excited for the growth and learning to come. I am also looking forward to working with like minded individuals and organizations with a passion for care. This time in my life has been very fast paced and unpredictable, but I eagerly anticipate the opportunities to come.
