Profile bio

About Asael Rodriguez

I am the Fulbright Scholar for the University of Kent completing a postgraduate degree in Conservation and International Wildlife Trade. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and minor in Sociology from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I want to express my deep gratitude to the US-UK Fulbright Commission and the University of Kent for providing me the opportunity to pursue my passion for conservation. My professional background includes four U.S. government agencies – NOAA, USGS, USFS, BLM – and internships with esteemed organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, Gladys Porter Zoo, and The Wildlife Center of Virginia. These experiences have developed my understanding of the relationship between people and nature and inspired a commitment to fight animal injustice. Once my educational goals are achieved, I aspire to serve as an ambassador for animal welfare and advocate against the cruelties of international wildlife crime. Fueled by the belief that positive change is achievable, I aim to contribute to a world where animals no longer endure needless suffering.
