Asaf Bitton MD, MPH, FACP is an internationally recognized health innovation leader and researcher whose work centers on improving health systems with a focus on primary health care in the United States and globally. He is currently the Executive Director of Ariadne Labs, a joint center for health systems innovation at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Ariadne develops simple, scalable solutions that dramatically improve the delivery of health care at critical moments to save lives and reduce suffering. He leads a team of 110+ physicians, nurses, researchers, data scientists, implementation specialists, program managers and operations professionals, and 150+ associate faculty and affiliate members from across the Harvard system and beyond. He has served as a senior policy advisor at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation for the past 12 years, helping to design the five largest tests of combined Medicare primary care payment and clinical practice transformation work in the US. He was a core founder and vice chair of the Primary Health Care Performance Initiative, an 8-year partnership with WHO, World Bank, Gates Foundation, and others to strengthen primary care globally. He is a practicing primary care physician in Boston, and serves on the CSIS Bipartisan Alliance for Health Security as well as the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Standing Committee on Primary Care. He is a current board member at NCQA, Health Leads, and Revolutionary Spaces (a civic history organization).
