About Ali Sedaghat, Ph.D.
During my PhD at Clemson University, I worked on topics related to geotechnical earthquake engineering involving non-linear and equivalent-linear site response analysis (using RVT and TS), site characterization, dynamic soil and rock properties, geo-structures seismic design.I did my master at University of Tehran, with emphasis on geotechnical earthquake engineering and physical (centrifuge and shake table) modeling. My master thesis was on seismic behavior of geocell-reinforced retaining walls using 1-g shake table tests. I have fair experience in laboratory and working with soil mechanics and dynamics testing equipment. Working at TSML, allowed me to put in practice the concepts of geotechnical earthquake engineering by engaging in many national wide projects on probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, site response analysis, geo-structures design, and liquefaction assessments. Summer 2023 I interned at Geosyntec Consultant located at Kennesaw, GA. I engaged in a diverse range of activities, including field visits and in-office work. From contributing to civil design efforts on various projects to participating in the seismic stability evaluation of a lake dam.
