Newcross Healthcare is one of the UK’s leading providers of temporary healthcare staff to a range of care settings. Having been with Newcross for four years, I have come to learn a lot about the needs and pressures within the care industry, as well as the benefits and challenges associated with the temporary staffing solution market. My position encompasses many roles, with the main two being the recruitment of suitably experienced care staff and developing relationships with care staff and care providers to ensure ongoing business for Newcross.In January 2017, I was selected to take part in a Leadership and Development programme that was built around self discovery, problem solving and stepping out of your comfort zone, which ended with a presentation to the Board of Directors. Linked with this, I am currently in the process of completing a Level 3 BTEC in Management.Working in a small team, current responsibilities include;- recruiting and inducting quality healthcare staff- managing, supporting and developing 80+ healthcare staff- developing and maintaining client relationships- ensuring all staff training is current, updating and supporting where necessary- provide training and support to colleagues and other offices- handling complaints and concerns

Initially working in the flagship store in Salisbury as a trouble shooter until Christmas 2013 before being seconded, and eventually moving permanently, to smaller store in Newbury. Varied role that included interaction with customers, cash handling and merchandising and security of stock. Also involved recruiting, training and managing a team of five sales assistants, whilst working toward branch KPIs.Successes include;- clearing massive backlog of stock from warehouses to increase sales and improve stock control- exceeding sales targets on a consistent basis in a previously underachieving store- noticeable improvement in customer interaction, leading to increased sales and repeat custom- reduction in stock loss through training and floor coverage

During my time with The Entertainer, my enthusiasm and commitment to the brand enabled me to develop and climb within the company. I worked with, and recruited, a number of sales assistants over my time with the company, and I always felt that I led my teams from the front. Having worked and supported in 12 different stores, The Entertainer provided me with an education in leadership and engagement, as well as helping improve my skill set with tasks involved with running an office and being creative when working toward meeting KPIs.
