As a Registered Nurse at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, I provide high-quality care for post-operative surgical cancer patients on the Enhanced Care Unit, a newly created ward that requires increased monitoring and observation. I work with a multidisciplinary team of experts to ensure optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.I graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Australian Catholic University in 2020, and since then I have been a keen and proactive learner of all things nursing related. I have gained valuable experience in various settings, including Nurse Bank, Surgical Oncology, and agency work. I have developed core competencies in acute care, oncology nursing and critical care nursing. I have a keen interest in using technology, particularly EMR systems to improve the healthcare system, patient data, patient outcomes and nursing as a profession. I am particularly interested in nursing education and how to enhance the knowledge and skills of myself and my colleagues as well as working with the nurses of tomorrow by fostering a nurturing, educational and patient centred environment.
