As a Buyer for Engine Components at McLaren Automotive, I am responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality engine components from global suppliers. My role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiation, and overseeing expenditure to ensure the optimal value and quality for our customers.

Undertaking essential projects for Finance department as well as learning key aspects of finance such as P&L, Forecasting, Budgets, Balance Sheets.

This is was a rotational scheme consisting of placements in numerous departments such as Air Freight Operations, Ocean Freight Product, Finance, Project Management and Marketing.

Here I am part of the procurement team dedicated to the transport of JLR parts across Europe to plants in the UK and Slovakia. During this placement I am gaining key experience around RFQ's, tenders, benchmarking and negotiation. Work focuses on reducing costs for JLR while also ensuring service levels are maintained to a high standard to ensure production lines are not stopped. I regularly work on excel and have become familiar working with cross functional teams to ensure the best service to our customer is delivered. I have also attended events such as Multimodal 2023 which has increased my knowledge and expertise with the logistics industry and has fueled even more passion for sustainable logistics.

Graduate Buyer working in NHS SC. Current frameworks I am working on are Patient Dry Wipes and Reusable Clinical Waste containers. This involves working with suppliers, clinical team and contracting teams to provide the best products and services to the NHS for the best price. A key area of focus are sustainability in the NHS working towards being carbon net-zero.

First employed on fresh food where I carried out stock replenishment and code checking ensuring legal trading which developed diligent analysis skills of products. Also involved teamwork to coordinate stock rotation, reductions and an analysis of stock turnover highlighting my technical ability working on handsets and computer programmes. Following this period, I was moved into a team focused on Christmas Food orders which required the ability to work in a new group, efficiently and effectively to sort 1000 orders in 3 days. The following year I was recalled, which represents the success I achieved. During the coronavirus epidemic I was rehired and moved to early morning starts at 4am which highlight my flexibility and punctuality. Thus to ensure all the online deliveries were correctly packed in time for stringent timings on customer orders.
