Melbourne Water - Eastern Treatment Plant

Completion of weekly, monthly and quarterly validations and calibrations of instruments including: Ammonia Analysers, Chlorine Analysers, Turbidity Meters, pH Analysers, UV Analysers, Dissolved Oxygen Sensors, Dissolved Ozone Sensors etc to meet MHF and HACCP standards. Responsibilities included laboratory testing of ammonia concentrations utilising test tubes reagents spectrographs laboratory scales pipettes and beakers etc. Completion of all associated work order paper work each day and electronic filing of completed work orders. In addition to these weekly calibrations and validations I created documented procedures for the weekly verifications/calibrations including photos and step by step instructions on how to perform the tasks.

Barrow Island Wa

Although I was initially employed as an instrumentation technician in the pre-commissioning team on Barrow Island, I volunteered to be a specialised permit writer after a swing as the need arose. I was a work team leader for Construction, Commissioning and Operations and was specifically dedicated to writing and submitting permits to work for CKJV Instrumentation and Electrical work crews including mechanical and crane crews (if required), within and across the construction, commissioning and operations areas within Chevron’s LNG plant on Barrow Island. I wrote the permits, JHAs, permit certificates and collated all paperwork within the permit including P&IDs, Electrical Isolation drawings, electrical and mechanical isolation certificates and critical protection bypass certificates, and obtained the required signature authority signatures before putting the permits through the permit hut. I also ensured the work team leaders working on the permits were very aware of any isolations and critical bypasses to be implemented before starting work. I used the document management systems to find the drawings and interfaced with engineers, supervisors and superintendents to get the information and signatures required to get the permits through the permit hut. Prior to writing permits I worked in the pre-commissioning team performing electrical point to point checking of instrumentation loops and loop checking of instruments back to DCS screens on Foundation Fieldbus and Hart loops using 475 communicators etc and completing the required ITR paperwork.

Validating, maintain and repairing flow meters (Coriolis, Ultrasonic, Vortex, Magflow and MVT), gas chromatographs, moisture analysers and pressure and temperature transducers on QGC's gas metering skids for the purposes of legislative requirements and accounting accuracy. The job involves travelling throughout QGC's operations and working on meters within the gas compression plants and on well sites.

Electrical and Instrumentation construction work on the SANTOS Fairview HUB4 CNG plant, North East of Roma in QLD. I was appointed leading hand of the heat trace installation crew on SANTOS's hub 5 plant, prior to moving back to QGC.
