The Ohio University Men's Club Volleyball is a team that is focused on competitive volleyball. This team's goal is also to create an environment to learn, grow, adapt and connect with other students that share the same qualities and interests. I started off as a normal player on the team and aspired to become a board member. In my junior year of college, I had the opportunity to run for the Vice President position on the team. Through this role, I co-manage a $2,500 budget by keeping records of all transactions and plans for future travel. Going into my senior year I was voted president.This role has taught me how to manage a group of 24 student-athletes while balancing a difficult course load. The most important thing that I have learned is how to manage my time as well as organize meetings and events for the organization. In the first semester of my presidency, we have competed in 3 tournaments. Bring back a championship and a second-place finish in 2 large multi-state tournaments.

Cunningham Resturant Group is based in Indianapolis, Indiana and is owned by Mike Cunningham. Their main focuses are to delight guests while providing exceptional service, food, and drinks. My role with Cunningham Restaurant Group was a lead server at a restaurant named Bru Burger Bar. I manage 10 tables on a daily basis providing exceptional service and guest dining experience.I was a server that always pushed myself to the next level and would compete to achieve the highest per-person average amoung a team of 8-10 full-time servers. I would average around $25-$30 per person at each table. I achieved this by suggestive selling, upselling alcoholic beverages, and promoting new items on the menu. This position has taught me how important customer service and personal connection are to selling products. These skills will transform well into the finance and management information systems industry because of how important it is to communicate efficiently with clients and coworkers.

All-Star Chemical is a company that offers a complete line of metal finishing chemistry. Their mission is to competitively supply the best quality products available while providing industry-leading service and support. My role was to manage a team of 5 fellow warehouse representatives to organize and prepare shipments daily. In this position, I was in control of large amounts of customer and local warehouse data.I found in this position how important it is to have systems that organize and store data. I also learned how to keep track of this data and how important it is to utilize information systems when completing business activity. The stock I actively controlled was worth around $100,000.
