• Serves as the department head for the Parks and Recreation Department, responsible for 1,057 acres of parkland, including 27 parks and numerous facilities, 20+ miles of trails, approximately 50 full-time staff, and a $4.7 million annual operating budget. Serves on the City Manager’s Senior Executive Team.• Key responsibilities include leadership, vision, planning, capital projects and project management, park development, decision-making and policy direction, employee development, operations and maintenance of parks and facilities, contract management, public speaking and relations, providing recommendations to and execute priorities of the City Council, and improving the quality of life for the community and visitors.• Key department responsibilities encompass the operations and maintenance of parks, municipal buildings, and grounds; custodial services; right-of-way mowing; aquatic facilities management; and operation of the Sports Complex, Pool, Tennis Complex, Golf Course, and camping park. Additional duties include park construction, capital projects, contract management, programming and special events, marketing, tourism, public art, grant management, emergency operations, staff development, customer service, working with boards and commissions, volunteer coordination, education, environmental stewardship, and more.• Oversee the department's operating budget, including forecasting, preparation, expenditure and revenue projections, cost analysis, purchasing, accounting, and expenditure approvals. Ensure effective budget management to optimize resources, maintain financial stability, and maximize revenue.

Served in a senior management level role, reporting to the City Manager in the City Administration Department. My duties included serving as the City's Public Information Officer, public relations, communication with the community and local media, economic development, overseeing the Main Street program, special projects, and coaching award-winning competitive lifeguard teams for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Served in roles from Aquatics and Special Events Supervisor, progressing to Parks and Recreation Manager during this time frame. Supervised and was responsible for all aspects of the following divisions: Aquatics, Recreation and Special Events, Administrative Office, and Parks Maintenance for the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department. Trained and coached award-winning competitive lifeguard teams.
