Being at teacher's assistant at Mount Carmel's Cub Corner was easy, but also demanding. Watching over 20 3-year old children can be stressful and rewarding. You get to teach them a bunch of new things each day. The excitement they get for learning always put a smile on my face. The stressful part was making them eat, putting them sleep, taking them to the bathroom, getting them to quiet down, and so on. It is a job that where you need to have a lot of patience. I am not the most patient person, but this job did wonders with building my patience. This job helped me learn when I need to take a step back, calm myself down, think about what I need to do, then go back to the situation. This is probably the most important thing I learned on the job.

As a recreation worker for Monterey High School, I did a lot of different jobs throughout the year. During the spring, I ran concessions and scoreboard for the youth league basketball games. This lasted a total of two months. Once summer turned the corner, I worked concessions and scoreboard for the youth league baseball teams. This lasted the whole summer. I also did upkeep for the field and the entire campus of Monterey High School. This including cutting the grass, picking up trash, killing weeds, and cleaning out the public pool at the beginning and end of each day. Also in July, I assisted teachers in getting their classrooms ready for the upcoming year. Anything that they wanted done, I helped with. From tearing out worksheets to moving furniture in and out of the classroom.
